Bethany and Ryan’s Colloca Estate Winery Wedding, Fair Haven, NY

When I walked into the Pleasant Beach Hotel where the guys were getting ready, I knew we were off to a very peaceful start of the day. The guys had football on the TV, there was a little breeze coming off the water, and there was very little commotion. However, when arriving at the bridal suite, the exact same energy was in the air. Normally walking into a group of 5 or more girls getting ready…it can be slightly chaotic. But not for Bethany. When I walked in, I saw 7 beautiful ladies with full hair and makeup completed. It was almost silent in the room. Everyone was so CALM. If you have ever been apart of getting ready for a wedding, you know thats not the norm! But that is just the energy these two bring…calmness.

The day went completely seamless. Nobody was late, the weather was perfect, however, one part of the day was very heavy. Sweet Bethany lost her father not that long ago and I know his absence was one part of the day she couldn’t make perfect. She was able to honor her dad in small ways: a piece of his shirt that clung to her bouquet, a chain that she held with her as she walked down the aisle, saving a seat for him at the front of the ceremony, and blowing up a kiss to heaven after her brother took his place for the father-daughter dance.

Despite this tremendous loss, Bethany and Ryan had a gorgeous wedding. They thought of every single detail, from a cookie & candy buffet, to custom cut out name cards for each individual guest, and a cigar bar for those that enjoy! Despite the wedding being on a Sunday and no federal holiday the next day, not one single person was afraid to party! They even made a limbo out of a belt!

I felt very honored to be present for such a special day. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Wood!
