Katie and Zach’s Bean Acre Barn Wedding, Oriskany, NY

Finally getting to watch these two get married felt like such a victory. Zach and Katie got married on a rainy fall day at Bean Acre Barn. However, it was absolutely perfect. I was obsessed with the florals, the kindness of the staff, the beauty of the venue, the amazing food, and the incredibly high amount of energy that came from all the friends and family. And just as luck would have it, we were able to sneak in the first look before it started raining, and right at sunset, the clouds opened up for us to get in a few golden hour photos…perfection!

What I loved about this day wasn’t just the amazing colors (blue is my favorite to photography) or the stormy clouds in the distance; it was getting to know more about Zach’s family and meeting Katie’s. I previously met Zach’s sister at their engagement session (she was the dog wrangler) and getting to see Zoey choke up not only when she saw her brother, but also when Katie got into her dress; it really sealed the deal that they two were the perfect match. The joy and the excitement was overflowing. I was able to learn more about these two during their very heartfelt ceremony. I learned that Katie actually had a date scheduled with someone after going out the first time with Zach. She went on that other date to be polite, but could only think about Zach. I also learned that Katie, 3 weeks into the pandemic, showed up to Zach’s home with a suitcase…and then never left! I finally learned that Zach, being the compassionate person he is, threw Katie a surprise party to celebrate her finally becoming a doctor and used that moment to ask her to marry him.

It was such a fun celebration and we loved getting to see friends and their families all night long! Congratulations to Mr. and Dr. Smith!
